MIDDLE LEVEL EDUCATION PROMOTIONThe Board of Education recognizes that young adolescence is a critical period in the development and education of students. Middle level students must develop 21st century learning skills and be able to use technological tools. Therefore, all students in grades six, seven and eight shall be required to take language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies and be able to demonstrate their 21st century knowledge and skills.
Students will receive an academic unit for each of the core content courses to be promoted to the next grade level. Successful completion shall be based on academic proficiency on identified benchmarks.
