The Board of Education ("Board") has a program that allows the public to listen to live audio broadcasts of its committee and full Board meetings.

There are three options for listening to the meeting:
1. Call in using a land line or cell phone;
2. Join the WebEx meeting on a computer (speakers or headset required); or
3. Listening using the WebEx app on your cell phone.
Listeners have experienced the best audio quality by calling in using a land line or listening over a computer that is connected to the internet via a hard-wire (not wifi) connection, but please free to use whatever method you find most convenient.
Agendas and meeting material can be accessed on the Board's website.
A meeting-specific event number or access code will be generated for each meeting. This information will be posted on the Board's website when the meeting agendas are posted (six days before the meeting date).
Note that this program is only for listening to the meeting. It is not being used to accept testimony.

Getting Started
How do I download the WebEx App on my mobile device?
Visit one of the following sites to download the WebEx App:
WebEx App for iPhone
WebEx App for Android devices on Google Play
WebEx App for BlackBerry
Once you open the app, you will have the option to either "Join Meeting" or "Sign In". If you have already signed up for WebEx, enter your log-in information and click "Join Meeting". Type in the event number or access code. Click "Join" and then enter in the password. Click "Join" to join the meeting.
If you have not signed up for WebEx but would like to sign up, click "Sign Up" and follow the instructions to create an account. Once you have created an account, follow the above instructions to join the meeting.
If you would like to access the meeting without signing in or signing up, click "Join Meeting" after you have downloaded the app. Enter the event number or access code. Next, register by entering in your name and e-mail address. Click "Join" and then enter in the password. Click "Join" to join the meeting.
Note that instructions may slightly vary depending upon your phone carrier.
How do I connect to the meeting on my computer?
Join with a WebEx Add-On:
1. Click the following link:

2. Register by typing in your name, e-mail, and meeting password
The meeting password is: joinmeeting
3. Click "Join Now" (Note: You will not be able to access the meeting until the scheduled meeting start time. Until that time, the "Join Now" button will be greyed out.)
4. Once the meeting has started, click "Join Now". Next, click "Join Event" when the prompt to join the event is on your screen.
For this option, you will need to download and install a WebEx Add-On. The option to install a WebEx Add-On will appear once you have clicked "Join Now". You can also set up the WebEx Add-On in advance.
Join a test meeting to confirm that you're able to successfully join a meeting after installing the WebEx Add-On.
Once the software is installed, and you have link to connect to the meeting, click on the "Join Now" link to join after registering by typing in your name, e-mail, and meeting password. As noted above, you will not be able to access the meeting until the scheduled meeting start time. Until that time, the "Join Now" button will be greyed out.
Join through your browser:

2. Register by typing in your name, e-mail, and meeting password
The meeting password is: joinmeeting
3. Click the "Join by browser" link directly underneath the "Join Now" link.
4. Click the "Call In" button when the "Audio Connection" box is on your screen.
5. Call 1-408-418-9388 (Call-in toll number) (Note: You can call-in using your mobile device, landline, or your computer's calling feature.)
6. Once you connect, the prompt will ask for the 9-digit access code or meeting number. The number will be shown on your screen. Note: The meeting code and access number are the same number. Enter the 9-digit number then press #.
7. The prompt will ask for the Attendee ID number. This number will be shown on your screen. Enter the Attendee ID number then press #.
How do I connect to the meeting on my phone (cellular or land line)?
Call the toll number: 1-408-418-9388
Once you connect, the prompt will ask for the 9-digit access code or meeting number. Note: the meeting code and access number are the same number. Enter the 9-digit number then press #.
Next, the prompt will ask for an Attendee ID number. Enter #.
You will be responsible for any charges resulting from the call.
Troubleshooting
Can I use the call-in and log-in information from a previous meeting to connect?
No, each meeting will have a specially generated 9-digit meeting number and access code. If an old number is used you will not be able to access the current meeting. Please use the current meeting information available on the Board of Education website.
Can I speak to the Board members and meeting participants using this program?
This program is only for listening to meetings live. Please submit your written testimony to Testimony.BOE@boe.hawaii.gov (include "Testimony" in the subject line).
What do I do if I cannot hear or experience technical difficulties during a meeting?
Send an email to BOE.Hawaii@boe.hawaii.gov if you are having any difficulties. Staff will respond as soon as possible, but they also monitor the meeting on meeting days, so there may be some delay.
