§8-46-1 General rule. Community sponsored fund-drives and money-raising activities are prohibited at the student level. [Eff. 5/2/83; comp MAR 11, 1996] (Auth: HRS §302A-1112) (Imp: HRS §302A-1112)

 

§8-46-2 Educational materials. Appropriate educational materials which may be provided by fund-drive sponsors may be used as part of the regular instructional program. [Eff. 5/2/83; comp MAR 11, 1996] (Auth: HRS §302A-1112) (Imp: HRS §302A-1112)

 

§8-46-3 Exceptions. Exceptions to this chapter shall be made only by the superintendent. Exceptions shall be based on the following criteria:

(1) Eleemosynary or charitable, non-profit organizations may submit an application to sponsor one fund-raising activity per organization per school year provided there is no direct monetary assessment of the student;

(2) Fund raising activities shall be educationally sound and based on positive humanitarian values with emphasis on heightening social consciousness;

(3) Projects shall enhance the educational objectives and have strong instructional values;

(4) No project shall be approved that accrues benefits to a profit-making organization;

(5) Parents shall complete a permission form for voluntary participation of the student in fund-raising activities; and

(6) Projects granted an exception shall also comply with the requirements of chapter 45 of title 8, Hawaii Administrative Rules, relating to community sponsored activities. [Eff. 5/2/83; am and comp MAR 11, 1996] (Auth: HRS §302A-1112) (Imp: HRS §302A-1112)
